The 31st isn’t until next Wednesday, but for all intents and purposes it’s Halloween weekend. It’s time to break out the carved pumpkins, black cats and Dots candy (my trick-or-treat favorite). But there’s one Halloween motif that seems to be haunting us all year long – the skull.
I have to say, I can’t help but like this trend. And honestly I don’t know why; and I didn’t want to. I want to be convicted that it’s creepy or sacrilegious, or something. But, the fact is I like it. And I figure if Ralph Lauren is showing skulls, then I certainly shouldn’t be worried that I’m one step away from goth or anything.
In fact, I’ve seen some really beautiful decorating with skull pillows or skull etched martini glassware. A ceramic skull looks chic and glam on bar cart, bookcase or coffee table tray. And an Alexander McQueen skull scarf has become the “it” accessory. And how fun are all these skull accessories?
See… skulls, they’re no so spooky.
