Interior Trends: Half-Painted Walls

// half-painted walls by Modern Eve

It’s not necessarily a new trend, but I am flirting with the idea of half-painted walls. This color-block statement is modern, fresh and easy to accomplish. It’s also helps create the illusion of height, which would be helpful for my measly 8′ ceilings. You’re also able to spec a bold or darker color without drowning out all of the light. See Emily Henderson‘s gorgeous emerald green in her guest bedroom. Specifically, I think this is a great idea for a bedroom or nursery, but I love seeing how other designers have translated it to offices, living rooms and other nooks.

I’ve never imagined liking half painted walls, but this is cute! I would think that the half painted look would cut the room in half, but it looks so cute!

Crazy, right? I wouldn’t have either, until I stumbled across these rooms.

Plain white is a fool-proof solution, too! ;) Most of my walls are solid white, except for a couple bedrooms and little grey in my kitchen.
