The recent influx of pink and red hearts,  x’s and o’s, and “Love” script across retailers can only mean one thing – Valentine’s Day is around the corner. Typically, I try to steer clear of cheesy holiday motifs, but this year I am a smitten with the Valentine’s Day trend of lipstick kisses. I blame Erin Fetherston. When I saw these lip patterned skinny pants (and make-up pouch), I fell hard. Obviously those pants would perfect for a Valentine’s Day date (or girls’) night out (or in), but I also just love them for casual weekends running errands. It’s hard for me to justify the price-tag for something so seasonal, but if money wasn’t an issue, you can bet that these would make an appearance on my monthly ‘Purchase History’.

For a more affordable way to wear this trend, I love these MARC by Marc Jacobs lip stud earrings and this black and white River Island tee. And if you’re interested in bringing lipstick love into your home all year long, this Andy Warhol print from is a great choice.

What do you think? Are lipstick kisses cheesy or can we enjoy them well-past February 14th?
