My favorite award show, The Academy Awards, is coming up on Sunday, March 2nd and it’s the perfect excuse to gather some friends for a little watching party. My idea of the ultimate Oscars party is small and intimate, with just a few of my closest friends. Here’s my inspiration:
(No. 1) Keep decorations simple in a color palette of black, white and gold. A glittery star garland is just the right touch of glitz and Hollywood glam. Add a floral arrangement of solid white tulips or roses and a few candles. No need to break out the cheesy cardboard cutouts of the Oscar Statuette.
(No. 2) Send out a beautiful electronic invitation through Paperless Post. They have a whole collection of award show viewing invitations. If your also into the red carpet pre-show, this one is perfect.
(No. 3) No party is complete without a fun, festive drink. The Glamour Shot, a decadent blend of Baileys® Vanilla Cinnamon and pure gold leaf, would be a hit with your guests. Serve with this high-style decanter and shot glasses.
– 1 oz. Baileys® Vanilla Cinnamon
– 0.5 oz. Goldschlager® Cinnamon Schnapps Edible gold flakes
– Rim shot glass with gold flakes.
– Mix ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice.
– Strain into a shot glass.
Legal: This recipe contains no more than 0.6 fl oz. of alcohol per serving.
(No. 5) Add your own red carpet with a solid table runner.
(No. 6) For dessert, order these amazingly clever “Best Picture” cookies from Eleni’s New York. They have several Oscar themed collections, including Best Actor, Best Actress and Hollywood Quote cupcakes. They’ll definitely be the talk of the night!
Not Pictured For a little added entertainment, make your own Oscar winner predictions with the official Oscar ballot. Challenge your guests and keep track of the winner. Have your own “award” on hand for whoever gets the most correct. Perhaps a bottle of Baileys® Irish Cream?
“Baileys Irish Cream. Stay Stylish. Drink Responsibly.”
