Decor8 Book Signing in SF

As luck would have it I just happened to be in San Francisco last Thursday, the same evening of Holly Becker’s Decorate Book Signing. In Spring 2010 I took Holly’s online Blogging Your Way class. Holly was so honest and approachable in the podcasts and forums that she gained a lifelong fan in me. When I heard she would be traveling the country promoting her new book, I was really hoping her tour would bring her through Dallas. Sadly not.

So Wednesday night as I caught up on Twitter from Husband’s iPad about to fall asleep in my hotel bed, you can imagine my excitement when I realized that Holly was in San Francisco! And Chronicle Books was hosting a Book Signing for her at Anthropologie the following evening! I swear it was harder for me to fall asleep than on Christmas Eve when I was six.

Holly had a great showing at Book Signing. I saw many great San Francisco-based bloggers including Victoria Smith from SF Girl By Bay and Crystal Gentilello from Plush Palate / Rue Magazine. Husband and I were in a hurry to make our dinner reservations, so I didn’t take the time to introduce myself. I am definitely regretting that now — SF Girl By Bay was the first Blog I ever started reading on a regular basis.

Holly was super sweet (of course) and absolutely adorable. I am so glad that she is having all of this success with her book — her story is so inspiring and I love to see blessings come her way. If you haven’t purchased her book you can do that on Amazon here. Unfortunately you won’t be able to get it signed, tonight is Holly’s last Book Signing in New York City.

San Francisco met all of my Blogger fantasies…I was also able to pick up a copy of the Summer 2011 Design*Sponge Newspaper at the same Anthropologie. Grace Bonney is another one of my favorite Bloggers and her newspaper is such a fun project. I am so glad I was able to pick up a copy. It made for some great airplane reading for the way home.

And speaking of Book Tours — Grace will be in Dallas on Thursday, October 13 at West Elm in Mockingbird Station for a fun Book Signing Party. Grace’s book, Design*Sponge at Home (out Sept 13) features three Dallas homes: Sam Reitmeyer Sano of Style/SWOON, Jeff and Shay Barfoot of Bee ThingsBonnee Sharp of Studio Bon Textiles. Should be a great event for Dallas design enthusiasts.
